Some Stars!!

Congratulations to you all!!

Racing Star!!

Congratulations to Jack in Year 3 who has been selected to be part of the principle race team at Veneno Racing, one of the leading National Kart racing teams in the UK, particularly for junior drivers.

Veneno Racing has a very close link to the Young British Racing Drivers association and the British Young Drivers Development programme run by the MSA (Motorsports Association).   As well as this amazing achievement, Jack also passed his ARKS (Association of Racing Kart Schools) test with a 100% pass mark for his theory and a very high score on his technical race driving assessment making him one of the youngest ever drivers to obtain his National B Competition Racing Drivers License (and the youngest ever driver to be selected to be part of the Veneno Racing 1st (Principle) team).

Jack will be racing in a number of Autumn and Winter Series events in the South East and South West over the course of the rest of this year.  This will all be in preparation for a full season racing with the team next year where the plan is for him to compete in the 2016 British Formula 6 Karting championships in the Honda Cadet series.

An amazing achievement - we look forward to hearing more in the future!

Cakes!!!

Don't forget the cake sale tomorrow that Year 4 are organising.

They have been learning about different charities and would like to raise some funds to support these.
They will be selling their cakes at lunchtime and after school if there are any left.

What a Fantastic Friday!

From cycling to body art, smoothie making to Hungarian Dancing - the school was filled with excitement all day long!  The children had great fun and the adults too!!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and led a session today, we really appreciated your time and effort.

A massive thank you to Mrs Steer and Mrs Strange for their hard work in organising such an amazing day and ensuring every child had such a range of activities.

Sports Day!

What an amazing day we have had!

Great team spirit was shown throughout the day and everyone tried their very best - I was very proud of all the children.  Some particularly impressive performances by individuals and well done to Maple for winning overall.

Excellent racing by the mums and dads, with additional three legged competitors!  The teachers' races were closely fought, but our SCL tutors managed to sneak through!

Thank you to all the family and friends who came to support their children and to our FAB ladies who provided refreshments.

Huge thanks go to all the staff who helped in lead up to and during today, to Mr D on the mic and especially to Miss Smith for organising this year's Sports Day - no mean feat!!

On your marks .... get set .....

We are all very much looking forward to today's Sports Day - the field is being set up as I write!

Miss Smith has even managed to arrange some lovely weather for us!  Please remember suncream, hats and water.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible throughout the day.

Refreshments will be available at breaktimes.

Photos

I am now, as I am sure you are too, very frustrated with the lack of photos on the blog.

I have now been told that it is likely to be our internet links. Please bear with me, am on the case!!

Guitar Assembly

This morning we enjoyed this term's guitar assembly.

We were treated to lots of different tunes from so many of our talented musicians.  They are so brave to play in front of the school!

Thank you to all who played and to Charlie for his hard work.

Please see the school office if you are interested in your child learning an instrument.
