World Book Day: Thursday 5th March

Next Thursday, we will be celebrating WBD by sharing stories and poems read by different members of staff: children will hear previews of books and then choose which they would like to hear more of. In addition to this, classes may be doing other book-related activities to greater or lesser degrees.

We are asking that children bring in or wear an accessory or prop that is related to a story or character. They may also choose to bring up to half a dozen clues - some that actually appear in a story, others that are 'beyond the literal' and may relate to the theme of the book - with which to quiz their classmates. See my example below.
Children may choose to make one or more of their items but no special preparation or cost should be necessary for parents. Be imaginative with what you have around the house!

The Book Fair will be open from Monday 9th March, where WBD tokens may be used.

The first three clues to a well known 'story' - nothing too direct. If you think you know what it is, what do you think that the first picture represents?
