Museum visit

The Year 6s have returned exhausted but buzzing from their visit to the Imperial War Museum.

The teachers were keen to pass on that the behaviour of our pupils was so good and they treated the museum with the respect it deserves.  We look forward to hearing more about it after half term.

Consultation Evenings

Looking forward to meeting with you all over the next two evenings.  The children are very keen to show off their work!

Lunch Club visit

We have just returned from the Lunch Club at the Methodist Church where some of our Year 6s presented the ladies and gentlemen with a box of Harvest goodies!

They were so excited to meet our children and were delighted with the offerings.  We were there chatting for ages and finding out all about their lives.  One gentleman had witnessed the first brick being laid for Guildford Cathedral, another was a Normandy Veteran and another lady was a wren who worked at Bletchley Park.  The eldest recipients were both 100!

Happy Harvest

What a wonderful celebration we had this morning. Thank you to each and every one of the children for their participation.  We had singing, dancing, recorders players (Beethoven!) and great acting.  Most importantly it was a time to reflect on those less fortunate than ourselves.  Thank you for your generosity with the donations, they will be much appreciated.

A particular vote of thanks to Revd. Jacqueline for her wonderful input.

A huge thank you to all the staff for the time and effort they put into ensuring such a fantastic festival.

Thank you also to the FAB ladies for serving teas and coffees.

Cricket practice

This afternoon we hosted 2 Surrey Cricket coaches who organised a game of Kwik cricket to try out a new surface.

The teams had a great time and this will help Surrey in their cricket preparations in the future.

More swimming success

A huge congratulations to Vincent who participated in this weekend's 'The Royals Open Meet'.  He swam in 9 events and was awarded 8 medals and a 4th place certificate.  What an amazing achievement!

Swimming stars

Congratulations to Ben B and Ben O for their swimming achievements this weekend.  They travelled up to Nuneaton with Guildford City Swimming Club as part of the team competing for the Junior Arena Southern league title. Guildford City won this last year but neither were in the team at that stage. There are 5 boys and 5 girls competing in each age group 9-12 years old. Ben B swam a 50m breaststroke and 50m backstroke and 2 relays and Ben O swam 2 relays.
Both boys swam incredibly well. Whilst the result still have to be confirmed, they are pretty certain that Guildford retained their title. The next step will be to compete in the National final at the end of November.  We look forward to hearing how they get on!
