And to Molly in Year 3.

Musical genius!

Many thanks to Hana who performed in assembly for the whole school this morning.

Her talent is exceptional and she should be very proud of her achievements.

Our RGS Experience

Our RGS Experience
Every Tuesday over the past eight weeks, eight children: Oliver, Shreyas, Joe, Joel, Jess, Jenny, Helena and Annamieke, all from Year 5, had the opportunity to experience design and technology topics along with two incredibly smart sixth formers who helped to complete our goals!
During the first session, we made a desk tidy each by using our hands to construct the pieces of wood together. We all found this activity really hard to tackle as a result of the different shapes and sizes.
Once we finished that we moved on to designing door signs, which we did using a piece of 2D software for us to take at the end of the term (8 weeks).
Our last activity was….. YUMMY! In fact, we were creating Easter egg moulds. First we, on A3 sized paper, got a wooden egg template and carefully drew around them. Then we actually started drawing our designs. The following week we got a piece of cardboard and cut out our designs and stuck them onto the wooden eggs. Also we put them in a “mould maker machine”.
Unfortunately, the week before, we didn’t get to eat our chocolate the same day! It was the final week so the sixth formers made a presentation to show the parents (which they obviously enjoyed and we did because we got our chocolate!) Unluckily, this was the last day.

Aquathlon

Eleven of our very adventurous pupils (plus Miss Furze and their equally brave parents!!) braved freezing temperatures yesterday to compete in our first ever Aquathlon,  Despite being at a distinct disadvantage from the outset, due to the fact we do not have a swimming pool here at school, the children did phenomenally well, picking up a 1st, 3rd and 5th in specific age groups.  We are very proud of them and hope all who attended have warmed up!!
