Sunny Stars!

Congratulation to you all and to De Wet for his Head Teacher's award!

They’re on their way!

Year 5s are on the A3 - we look forward to seeing them very soon!

News from Year 5!

Another successful afternoon at PGL which saw the children complete ‘survivor’ and zip wire ( Mrs Johns especially, flying throughout the air at speed ! )

The children tried their hands at shelter building, tent peg making and fire starting. Some fantastic survival skills demonstrated by all.

The children then moved on to Zip wire. In the baking afternoon sun the children had to scale a ladder then a tree to get to the launch platform- a challenge in itself. All thoroughly enjoyed zipping though the air ( with some needing a little encouragement at the start)

Activities completed - it was time for tea- chicken pie and bolognese on the menu tonight- then back for a change of clothes and time to get glam for the disco.

Stars of the day today were Lucy, Amelia, Nathan, Oliver and Edward- who all received the VIP treatment.

After birthday cake and a song the children headed off for a boogie on the dance floor- complete with glow sticks. The teachers even tried to learn the ‘floss’!!

Very tired Bushy children headed back all discoed out - ready to pack their bags and settle down to sleep- their last night here.

Footie news

Congratulations to our Year 3/4 Girls Football team who came 3rd in yesterday's tournament.  Despite very hot conditions, they participated so well and particular well done to Aimee for scoring so many goals!

Thursday @ PGL

Another successful morning had by all at PGL.

Another scorcher of a day- the children raced to breakfast; full English of course, gave Lola birthday best wishes and balloons before heading out to zip wire, rifle shooting and giant swing.

It has been so lovely seeing all of the children taking part in all of the tasks and pushing themselves to conquer fears or simply give something new a go. This morning saw sharp shooters and those braving dizzy heights- even the teachers got involved ( braving the giant swing!)

Lunch had and sun cream well applied the children make their way out for a fun packed afternoon.

PGL update

A fantastic afternoon had by all- for most a very muddy one. The rest of year 5 completed the sensory trail ( great Bushy team work shown) as they tackled the course blindfolded- this was followed by the challenge course which saw the children rolling around in the mud, climbing the various obstacles and navigating their way across bridges, under netting tunnels, through the tyres and across muddy pools on rope swings. Not forgetting the ‘mud angles’ which were made by those most keen to get dirty.
It was fantastic to see the children embrace the activities- with such confidence.

After a much needed wash the children headed down for dinner - meat balls and pasta tonight- before a trip to the shop for some PGL souvenirs.

Gifts bought the children wrapped up warm for the campfire-  as the sun set over PGL. Stars of the day were awarded to each group - Daniel D, Jude N, Will D, Lottie H and Gabrielle H - all very deserving winners of the VIP treatment prize.

Games played and songs sung- very tired Bushy children returned for an early night ahead of another action packed day tomorrow.

Greetings from sunny PGL!

Today all up at 6am - awoke to bright sunshine and headed down for a cooked breakfast before embarking on our first activities. Jacobs ladder ; which saw the girls again taking the lead in the bravery stakes)
Then the low ropes- great team work displayed and the challenge course- very wet and muddy !! All great fun - topped off by the glorious weather.
A spot of fire wood collecting for the campfire tonight before they head off for a well deserved lunch.

Day 1 at PGL

The children are all tucked up and asleep after a busy first afternoon at PGL.

They started by setting up their rooms - some very successful bed making and exceptionally tidy rooms.

After that they headed out for a game of ‘fishy fishy’ followed by a highly competitive hockey game. ( the girls giving the boys a run for their money)

After a tour of the PGL sight and a delicious dinner of pork noodles, chicken goujons followed by sponge and custard they headed into the woods for ‘ambush’.

Dresses in camouflage and Hiding in the woods with only a torch to guide their way the children huddled together trying to remain undetected from their peers for as long as they could without being discovered.

With every one found- they headed back to their rooms for bed. All lights were out at 9:30 - a calm first night.
