Wednesday’s news!

What a wonderful morning we have had. We started our day at the 360 cinema. Showing footage of the D-Day journey by the beaches.

After the film we wandered down into the town of Arromanches where we witnessed a service and had the opportunity to see exactly where the manmade artificial harbour had been placed. Here we engaged with veterans and current seven soldiers and were able to see many of the different uniforms and vehicles used during the war.

We then headed off to Longues sur Mer for lunch and to visit the four gun placements. During the war this was part of the German Atlantic wall coastal fortification.
