Junior Citizens - Year 6

Yesterday, we went to Guildford Fire Station.  The adults introduced the day, before we were split into groups to complete different activities:

  • Talk about staying healthy - not eating too much sugar
  • Road and train safety
  • Fire escape plan
  • Being aware of dogs - how to approach them
  • Drug - explaining what are good and what aren't
  • Guildford Borough - recycling and why it is good
  • Stranger danger - where we were tempted to go with a stranger, who was tempting us with treats. Not many fell for it though!
We learnt a lot from it and the messages will come in very useful as we start secondary school.

We had a big group photo in front of a fire engine and the Mayor gave a speech thanking the Borough council and Firefighters.
